The uncrowned sandy beach is a short walk down the hill and is great for sunbathing, collecting shells and driftwood, barbecues on the beach, reading on the dunes, or walking for miles on the white sand.

If you like outdoor activities, you can horseback ride on the beach, surf, kayak and fish in Tomales Bay or go hiking on the hills of Dillon Beach or on the nearby Point Reyes National Seashore. Dillon Beach has some of the best surfing on the Coast.

If you like wine tasting, you are a short drive to some of the most famous vineyards in the world in Napa and Sonoma. You are close to wonderful wineries along the Russian River or in the Alexander Valley.

For gourmet restaurants, you can dine in Wine Country, on the coast for fresh seafood, or find small quaint bistros.

For sightseeing, there is Point Reyes National Seashore for hiking, shopping & great restaurants; Bodega Bay for championship golf, great seafood restaurants, and Whale Watching; Marshall for the Hog Island Oyster Company; Freestone for the best bakery we know & Osmosis for massages and Japanese enzyme baths, Calistoga for interesting shops, massages, facials, mud baths & hot springs pools (our favorite spa is Indian Springs); Petaluma for outlet shopping, great restaurants & antique shops; Occidental for its picturesque galleries, shops & restaurants, and more. For videos, DVD's & pizza, you are 3 miles from the quaint town of Tomales.

Don't forget that Dillon Beach is just an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. On the way, you can visit the wonderful towns of Sausalito and Tiburon. Both of these upscale towns with multi-million dollar homes have magnificent views of San Francisco and the Bay. You can also stroll along the waterfront or sample any of the fabulous restaurants and boutique shops.
